Inspired from an early age by his father, He Baili, a renowned painter of the Lingnan School, Eric Ho pursued his passion for art by earning a Bachelor’s degree with specialized honors in Fine Arts from York University in Ontario, Canada, in 1997. He further expanded his expertise by obtaining a Master’s degree in Design Management from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2003.
Eric’s artistic practice spans a diverse range of mediums, including oil painting, watercolors, photography, sculpture, printmaking, Chinese ink painting, and calligraphy. Born into Eastern culture but raised in a Western environment, his works reflect a unique fusion of cultural influences, earning recognition and appreciation from international organizations and collectors. Based in Hong Kong, Eric continues to explore the artistic conception of Yin and Yang, the opposing principles of nature, through his Chinese ink paintings. By integrating Chinese philosophy, calligraphy, and modern art, he creates artworks that are deeply personal and innovative, marked by his distinctive style and interpretations.
Eric’s artistic originality has garnered significant attention, with his paintings highly sought after by international collectors and featured in prestigious fine art auctions such as Christie’s, Ravenel International Art Group, and Poly Auction. Most recently, his Chinese ink painting HKID series was selected as one of only 12 individual art creation projects to receive funding from the China National Arts Fund, underscoring his growing influence in the art world.
