For March, we are privileged to host the distinguished Chinese ink artists, Eric Ho and his father, He Baili, who will share their remarkable journey of preserving and advancing the legacy of Chinese ink art within their family, as well as their significant contributions to the field on a global scale.


Together, Eric Ho and He Baili represent a profound dedication to the preservation and evolution of Chinese ink art, bridging tradition and innovation while inspiring future generations.

    HeBaili 何百里

    Born in 1945 in Guangzhou, He Baili is a celebrated Chinese ink painter renowned both in Hong Kong and internationally. With decades of dedication to the art form, he has mastered traditional techniques while infusing them with his unique artistic vision. Over his illustrious fifty-year career, He Baili has achieved global recognition, earning numerous awards and accolades.

    His works are highly prized and collected by art enthusiasts and institutions worldwide. He has published several acclaimed art collections, including The Paintings of He Baili, He Baili's Fan Paintings, The Realm of He Baili, Freedom in He Baili, Impressions of Beauty, and Fragrant River of He Baili. Currently, He Baili serves as a founding council member of the Hong Kong Art Association, further cementing his legacy and contributions to the world of Chinese art.

    HoEric 何紀嵐

    Inspired from an early age by his father, He Baili, a renowned painter of the Lingnan School, Eric Ho pursued his passion for art by earning a Bachelor’s degree with specialized honors in Fine Arts from York University in Ontario, Canada, in 1997. He further expanded his expertise by obtaining a Master’s degree in Design Management from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2003.

    Eric’s artistic practice spans a diverse range of mediums, including oil painting, watercolors, photography, sculpture, printmaking, Chinese ink painting, and calligraphy. Born into Eastern culture but raised in a Western environment, his works reflect a unique fusion of cultural influences, earning recognition and appreciation from international organizations and collectors. Based in Hong Kong, Eric continues to explore the artistic conception of Yin and Yang, the opposing principles of nature, through his Chinese ink paintings. By integrating Chinese philosophy, calligraphy, and modern art, he creates artworks that are deeply personal and innovative, marked by his distinctive style and interpretations.

    Eric’s artistic originality has garnered significant attention, with his paintings highly sought after by international collectors and featured in prestigious fine art auctions such as Christie’s, Ravenel International Art Group, and Poly Auction. Most recently, his Chinese ink painting HKID series was selected as one of only 12 individual art creation projects to receive funding from the China National Arts Fund, underscoring his growing influence in the art world.
